Multi-Sensory Environment

The K.T. Wiedemann Foundation generously provided the funds for the K.T. Wiedemann Multi-Sensory Room at Heartspring. The MSE room was designed to provide expanded therapeutic and educational experiences and activities for our students. This room also provides a variety of unique leisure and break options that our students enjoy and often request throughout their day.

The multi-sensory environment room (MSE) is a specially designed room that allows students to engage in a variety of different visual, tactile and gross motor activities. The equipment is designed to promote relaxation, enjoyment and independent sensory exploration. The students have the opportunity to engage in relaxing or interactive activities. The environment and activities are adaptable and individualized to fit the preference of each student.
