Vocational Training  Program

The Heartspring Vocational Training Program helps students prepare for possible future employment. Our goal is to educate students to work independently while enhancing multiple skills. The Vocational Training Program has been helping prepare students  since 2003, obtaining donated tasks from area businesses to complete. For questions or to inquire about donating a task, contact Cheryl O’Brien, vocational training program coordinator, 316.634.8882.

Testimonials

The Vocational Training Program at Heartspring has done so much to help us keep pace with our rapid growth. It plays an essential part in putting together charts, comment cards, privacy notices, as well as a host of other things for each and every one of our patients. Without the continued support and willing hands from the kids at Heartspring, the demand and stress of our day-to-day duties would be a nearly impossible task. They have proven to be the insurmountable hands that we need and I sincerely thank them for all of their hard work.

Stuffing 3,000 bags with 45 items was a large task for the Vocational Training Program, but one that they completed successfully for Clear Channel Radio. This project for “A Taste of Home Cooking Show” was the first time the room was set up as an assembly line, much different from the usual set up where students are sitting and working. Along with stuffing the bags, the students labeled each bag with a sticker letting all know that the job was completed by the students at Heartspring School. Clear Channel radio has worked with Heartspring on several events in past years and we have always had great results.
