Lambda Tau Delta (LTD), a 100-year-old national philanthropic sorority, adopted Heartspring as their national philanthropy in 1945. In 2010, the century old group is disbanding. Their generous contributions supported a variety of initiatives; most notable is their support of student scholarships through the Loving Time Deposits project. Since 1945, LTD has donated approximately $375,000 to Heartspring, including generous support for the 1994 Capital Campaign to build the current campus.
Carolyn Rosile, LTD National President had this to say as she presented Heartspring CEO, Gary Singleton, with a final donation. “Our members were enthusiastic supporters of Heartspring because they were helping children and, ultimately, their families, in teaching children to become the best they could be despite their physical and intellectual disabilities.“
For over 60 years LTD members visited campus and experienced what it takes to create a path to independence for children with special needs.
“It meant a great deal to our members to be able to visit the campus from time to time and see where the money was used, the successes accomplished, and the majestic expansion in the physical facilities of the organization. The members would take their experiences home to their various chapters throughout the USA and spread the successes they saw, which would generate continued interest and support for our philanthropy.”
