Stephen Perry helps Brady with money recognition.

Every year Exceptional Parent Magazine honors the education professionals that readers feel have made a positive difference in the lives of children with special needs. These teachers and administrative personnel spend their careers working to enhance the quality of education that students with disabilities receive and they perform their jobs with passion, creativity, and professionalism that sets them apart from the rest.

Heartspring's director of educational services, Stephen Perry, was named a 2010 Model of Excellence in Education.

For Stephen Perry, implementing successful programs for students at the Heartspring School and ensuring that staff are committed to delivering quality instruction every day are just a few of the things that make his position as the education director meaningful. His reward comes in the form of the students’ progress, of which he is often a part, taking a hands-on approach to administration. A veteran educator with 20 years experience, Stephen leads by example, offering encouragement and support to his staff whenever necessary. He advocates for students and promotes positive team relationships. His unwavering dedication to Heartspring students, families and staff is a model of excellence for anyone in education.
