Physical therapy services at Heartspring address purposeful, goal directed activities to improve each student's function within an educational and group home environment. Our physical therapy sessions are designed to allow each student to have mobility throughout our campus; participate in classroom, home and community activities, maintain or change positions in the classroom and at home; as well as manage stairs, restrooms, and the cafeteria. Heartspring's physical therapist, along with the student's team, assess motor planning, sensory-motor coordination, posture, balance, functional mobility, environmental adaptations and the use or need for assistive devices for each when determining if that student may require physical therapy services.
